Restaurant.com (www.restaurant.com) implemented user feedback to refine its site search to help diners find what they are looking for faster and easier, and to explore different characteristics of restaurants they might not have otherwise considered. The upgrades allow visitors to pinpoint the restaurant that fits their preferences for atmosphere, attire, location, menus and more. For example, a diner who is looking for a local Mexican restaurant with live music that accepts a specific credit card can filter their Restaurant.com search results by selecting those criteria.

Since launching the upgrades, savvy diners have utilized the search with Italian, Japanese and Indian listed in order as the top three cuisines sought after on the site nationally. Other cuisine search options include fare ranging from Polish to Mediterranean. According to additional site data, most diners are also looking for restaurants with either a romantic or family atmosphere, however, Restaurant.com (www.restaurant.com) also touts nearly 2,000 restaurants on the program that serve "late night food," another search option available to site visitors.

Additional refinement upgrades will allow site visitors to sort restaurants alphabetically, by average entrée price and by "new" restaurants in their area. The "new in your area" function, which also now appears at the top of a user's search page, features the restaurants in the vicinity that have been added to Restaurant.com within the past 60 days. This new site element was added after receiving feedback from Restaurant.com customers who were interested in expanding their dining options and trying new restaurants.

To explore all the restaurant choices in any local or national area, visitors can go to www.Restaurant.com, select a location and then choose to refine their restaurant search. Once selected, restaurant Web pages show gift certificate denominations and available quantities. Restaurant.com also periodically runs sales through email that pass along additional savings to registered visitors for gift certificates.
